Titus Bramble blog

I no this has nothing to do with Chelsea but it is just about the best blog I have read so I thought I should copy and paste for others to read. It comes from the guardian and was not written by me but by a person under the name Blogger B.

There is one man in sport who defies convention to such an extent that his actions can only be seen as revolutionary. One man who has become so unfathomably dire in his field that his actions can only be accounted for if they are intentional and visionary. One man who goes out of his way to make everyone around him look like shining beacons of a sport so flooded with talent that it is losing its only purpose - to entertain. That man is Titus Bramble.

Titus's Maoist, vehemently disestablishment leanings assemble themselves in his total and unambiguous refusal to 'play football'. In the current climate of overpaid superstars and players wresting the reigns of control away from managers and referees, his viewpoint is a refreshing refrain and an inspiration. Reminding us of a young Cantona (where Cantona showed the world how football should be played, Titus tirelessly and remorselessly demonstrates how it shouldn't. Can'tona, if you will) this young man conducts himself with enough humility to come to the conclusion that he has no right to make a challenge for the ball, or chose the right pass, or stay on his feet. For he alone knows that the good of the sport must come at his own expense. With scant disregard for his own reputation or well-being, he chooses anarchy over conformism, a foul over a tackle, an own goal over a clearance, the wrong choice over the right. Titus battles alone against a dark vision of the future - a cavalcade of endless talent drowning a once simple sport in their boundless skill and pin-point passing. To these 'professionals' Titus Bramble forever turns his back and says, "No, I will do it my way. I will do it the wrong way."

Can he stay on his feet while those around him remain on theirs? No, he can't. Can he justify his mountainous wage with the skills and prowess a professional footballer needs to succeed? No he can't. Can he pass a single game without performing at least one bemusing sacrificial error so as to leave his team mates utterly confused, but comparatively blameless? No, quite simply, he can't.

But ask any sports fan if this man can instil a seed of hope within all those who sit in pubs up and down the land and exclaim, "I'm sure I'm better than him"? And their answer will be unanimous: yes, he can.

Titus Bramble. Maoist. Martyr. Miscreant. Entertainer. King of YouTube. And, if the definition of being a good sportsman is to put the reputations of others above your own and to bring a sliver of hope to a host of failed and aging footballers across the land, then Titus Bramble is sportsman of the decade.

Ironically this was in reply to who should be sports personality of the year.

He gets my vote.

Deco: Title or Bust

Deco has claimed Phil Scolari would have failed if he is unable to bring the Premier League or Champions League title to the Bridge this season.

After two years away from the League crown and still pursuing their first Champions League triumph, Deco sees this season as the one to be getting back to winning major honours.

He sees Scolari as the man to bring silverware to Chelsea as regularly as they enjoyed it under Mourinho.

Scolari concerned by home form

Phil Scolari has admitted Chelsea's early home form is a worry and could be decisive in the chase for the Championship.

Chelsea lost their 86 game unbeaten run at the weekend with a defeat to Liverpool, as well as already drawing two games against Tottenham and Manchester United.

When compared to their away form of winning all five games, scoring 14 goals in the process it can be seen why Scolari sees this as a concern.

Lampard is best midfielder in the world - Terry

John Terry believes there is no midfielder in hotter form than Frank Lampard anywhere in the world.

The midfielder is convinced he is in the best form of his life and his superb goal against Hull on Wednesday night goes some way to showing that. It moved his tally to the season to seven, again the highest tally in the league for a midfielder, and is course to break the 20 goal tally for the fourth successive season.

Lampard is now on 99 Premiership goals and is looking for his centenary against Sunderland at the weekend.

Carvalho out for three weeks

Ricardo Carvalho faces a minimum of three weeks on the side-lines after it was confirmed he picked up a thigh problem against Hull.

Carvalho only made his comeback from a knee ligament injury last week is expected to miss five games and be back late November.

The games he is likely to will miss are the league games against Sunderland, Blackburn, and West Brom, along with the CHampions League tie against Roma and the Carling Cup match against Burnley.

Alex is expected to debutise but Chelsea are now short in defence after Michael Mancienne has gone out on loan to wolves.

Hull 0 Chelsea 3

Chelsea bounced back from the disappointment of the weekend in emphatic fashion as they fire three past Hull at the KC Stadium.

Goals from Lampard, Anelka, and Malouda were enough to see off the surprise team of the season, but had Chelsea been more clinical in front of goal the tally could have been so much more.

Frank Lampard put Chelsea ahead after just four minutes with a delicate lob from the edge of the area to leave keeper Myhill helpless.

Hull were able to keep it at this until half time and could have gone in level but for Daniel Cousin's low drive hitting the post.

Just five minutes into the second half Nicolas Anelka took full advantage as Hull's defence hesitated to get on the end of a hopeful long ball and slot in past Myhill.

Malouda wrapped up the goals 15 minutes from the end as he finished from six yards, converting Ricardo Carvalho's low cross with the outside of his boot.

The only sour note of the night was in the dying minutes when Carvalho had to limp off the field with a suspected hamstring tear.
